Almond Buns Recipe
Almond Buns with Flour, Butter, Baking Powder, Almonds, Sugar, Egg and Milk.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz (225g) Flour
2 oz (50g) Butter
1 heaped teaspoon Baking Powder
1 oz (25g) Ground Almonds
2 oz (50g) Sweet Almonds
2 oz (25g) Castor Sugar
1 Egg
Milk to Mix
Pinch of Salt
METHOD
Add the baking powder and a pinch of salt to the flour. Rub in the butter, add the ground almonds, 1 oz (25g) of sweet almonds blanched and sliced, and the sugar. Beat in the egg, well whisked, and add sufficient milk to form a light dough. Form into small buns, brush them over with milk, press a blanched almond on each and bake in a hot oven for between 15 and 20 minutes.
