Beef with Green Peas Recipe

Beef with Green Peas with Beef Steak and Fresh Green Peas.

INGREDIENTS

A Thick Piece of Beef Steak
Fresh Green Peas

METHOD

This is one of the most delightful and fragrant dishes of beef to be made with green peas.

Season a nice thick piece of beef steak and place it into a heavy casserole with a good piece of butter. Cook for about 10 minutes on a good heat, turning it frequently.

While this is going on, shell some small peas, the smallest you can get, and add them to the beef with a little more salt and pepper. They should fill up the sides between the meat and the pan and cover the top of the steak by about an inch (2.5cm).

Now put on the lid and simmer gently without further attention for two and a half to three hours. It is amazingly good, but do not cook more than you will eat, for it is disappointing when cold.

If you are using frozen peas add them 20 minutes before you want to serve the dish.

Serves 4.
