Date Pudding Recipe

Date Pudding with Dates, Breadcrumbs, Flour, Suet, Cinnamon, Sugar, Egg and Milk.

INGREDIENTS

8 oz (225g) Dates
4 oz (100g) Breadcrumbs
2 oz (50g) Flour
3 oz (75g) Shredded Suet
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 pint (150ml) Milk
1 level teaspoon Baking Powder

METHOD

Wash the dates, if necessary, stone them and cut into quarters. Mix together the flour, baking powder, breadcrumbs, finely shredded suet, dates, cinnamon and sugar. Mix thoroughly. Beat the egg with the milk and add it to the dry ingredients. Turn into a greased pudding basin, tie greaseproof paper over and steam for two hours.

Serves 4.
