Fig Cakes Recipe
Fig Cakes with Figs, Self Raising Flour, Butter, Sugar, Egg and Milk.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz (225g) Self Raising Flour
3 oz (75g) Butter
2 oz (50g) Sugar
4 oz (100g) Figs
1/2 Egg
2 tablespoons Milk
METHOD
Rub the butter into the flour until it is evenly distributed. Chop the figs and add them along with the sugar. Beat the egg well and mix it with the milk. Stir this in and beat to a soft batter. Fill patty or small cake tins up to 3/4 quarters full with the mixture. Bake for about 20 minutes in a rather hot oven (220C, 425F, Mark 7).
