Potatoes Au Gratin Recipe
Potatoes Au Gratin Recipe with Potatoes, Milk, Butter, Flour, Grated Cheese & Breadcrumbs.
INGREDIENTS
4 Medium Boiled or Steamed Sliced or Diced Potatoes
1/2 pint Milk
1 oz Butter
1 oz Plain Flour
2 oz Grated Cheese
Breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Pepper to taste
METHOD
Melt the Butter in a saucepan. Stir in Flour, mix well, add Milk and stir until boiling. Season to taste. Add Cheese. Stir until melted. Place Potatoes in a layer in a shallow buttered fireproof dish. Cover with sauce. Sprinkle thickly with Breadcrumbs. Dab with bits of Butter. Bake in a moderate oven (350F, 180C, Mark 4) until golden. Serve with Fried, Grilled or Roast Meats and Cold Cuts.
Enough for 4 people.
