Steak Hotpot Recipe
Steak Hotpot with Steak, Potatoes, Onion, Carrot, Turnip, Bacon and Herbs.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz (225g) Lean Steak
1 lb (450g) Potatoes
1 Onion
1 Small Carrot
1 Turnip
Sprig of Parsley
Sprig of Thyme
Small Rasher of Bacon
1 tablespoon Flour
Salt & Pepper
METHOD
Wash, peel and slice the vegetables. Mix a good seasoning of salt & pepper with the flour. Chop the bacon, cut the meat into small pieces, and dip each into the seasoned flour. Line a casserole with the vegetables, then add a few pieces of meat and chopped bacon, and a sprinkling of chopped herbs, then more vegetables, meat and herbs. The top layer should be the potatoes peeled and sliced. Cover with cold water or stock, and bake in the oven (375F, Mark 4) until the vegetables are done.
