Vanilla Biscuits Recipe
Vanilla Biscuits Recipe with Flour, Butter, Rice Flour, Vanilla Essence, Castor Sugar and Egg.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz (175g) Flour
4 oz (100g) Butter
1 oz (25g) Rice Flour
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
3 oz (75g) Castor Sugar
1 Egg
Pinch of Salt
METHOD
Mix the flour, rice flour and salt and sift them into a bowl. Rub in the butter until it is quite evenly mixed. Stir in the sugar. Beat the egg well, add the vanilla essence to it. Add this gradually to the dry ingredients, reserving a teaspoon for the top of the biscuits. Knead the paste to a soft dough. Roll out on a floured board, cut into biscuits, put them on a greased tray and bake to a pale fawn colour in a very moderate oven (160C, 325F, Mark 3) for around 15 to 20 minutes. When almost done, brush with the vanilla flavoured egg. Sprinkle castor sugar and return to the oven to finish baking.
